Hola (That’s Spanish for Hello 😉
This week has flown by… Weeks feel like days but days feel like weeks, that’s the best way anybody has described it so far.
This week there were two training conference thingys. One for Senior Companions on Tuesday and one for Junior Companions on Friday. So on Tuesday I got to be with Elder Perez for almost the whole day while our companions were at the meeting. We were in the MTC together. It was a fun time because our Spanish still isn’t the best and we had to teach a lesson together and we went talking to people on the streets. I came to realize something. Both of us weren’t perfect, but we both tried as hard as we could, and I know that that is all the Lord asks of us. As long as we but our whole heart and soul into our work, it will all turn out okay.
We had a boss lesson this week with M_____. We got Hermana H__________from the ward to come with us to a lesson with her. We were talking with her on her doorstep about the Gospel of Jesus Christ. We talked about faith, repentance and baptism and then I asked M_____ if she would be baptized. She said she would try and then Hma H__________ started talking to her and telling her she could do it and that the whole Relief Society would work with her to help her be baptized. That was exactly what M______ needed. She loved listening to us but she didn’t have the desire to act, she was afraid and when the members offered help she smiled and now has the courage to take that leap of faith. It was a cool experience and the spirit was super strong. It was awesome.
We also did a lot of service this last week. We decided to help out Elder Grossnickle (a senior couple missionary that works in the mission office) to clean out the mission storage unit. It was super gross and disorganized when we got there. I channeled my inner Storage Wars and got to work cleaning. There was a lot of weird stuff in there that missionaries had collected and stored over the years. We threw away so much garbage it took like two truck trips to throw it all away. It was fun but it took forever. It always makes me happy doing service, whether its for members, nonmembers or even just the mission office I always find joy in the work. When ye are in the service of your fellow beings ye are only in the service of your God. 🙂
I love all of you and I love being a missionary and There is no place where I rather be (insert the song by Clean Bandit) hahaha
Love,
Elder Bryce 🙂
