Letter #18: A Good Day to Move

Wow this week went by so fast! I am pretty sure it was yesterday that I wrote all of you. It has been a crazy week, we spent all of Tuesday helping a bunch of Elders in’n’out of our zone. We moved 5 out and 4 in. It was a long day that was spent carrying boxes up and down stairs and into trucks. The good thing is I am now ripped!!!! haha jk

On Thursday I had a cool dinner. My friend Cole, his mom moved to Long Beach and actually moved into my area… what are the odds of that happening. He was spending spring break there and they offered to feed us. It was great seeing someone from home. We also taught a really cool lesson with a mouse trap about faith. It was fun.

On Friday, we were able to go back to Leisure World and help out another couple. We helped them assemble and hook up a printer. They were a funny couple who were both practically blind, and they told us the same story about how they moved to California three times… haha. They were super nice and even took us out to eat afterwords to a place called Primrose Diner. It was right outside Leisure World and when we went inside, my companion and I were the youngest in the diner by 40 years or more haha. It was super tasty though. I love going and serving people!!!

On Saturday, we had some trouble with our car. It was weird and it just wouldn’t start. So we were back to our good ol’ ways of walking 500 miles, until the tow truck could come pick it up today (Monday). It wasn’t the best day because all of our appointments fell through and we were out in the sun all day. We did however have a delish dinner. A family in the ward invited us to a birthday party at a park where they cooked amazing tacos… Then when some elders were taking us home they got a really bad flat tire but it was when we were right next to the shop so we took it in. We were stuck at the shop for like a couple hours. It felt like we were unable to accomplish anything that day. But the good thing is we are borrowing the mission truck until we get our car back.

Today has been crazy so far, we have been running across the mission helping some elders change apartments since we have the truck. We have been moving things like couches and tables and refrigerators. It has cut our pday short but that isn’t too bad.

Well, I can’t wait to get back to the normal routine this next week. Too much crazy things have thrown out our plans.

I love y’all and I love being a missionary!!!!!!

P.S. The frozen lemonades at Chick-fil-a are the best thing west of the Mississippi!
