Hey guys!!! This week has been awesome.
On Tuesday, we had to wake up at like 4:00 in the morning and drive to the airport to drop my companion off. It was way too early to be awake. I then stayed with two other elders and packed up all my stuff until Hermano Genis came and he picked me up and we drove to HB. We kinda got lost along the way but we eventually got there. I arrived at my new apartment which is at 17306 Keelson Lane in Huntington Beach. I like this apartment better because it has carpets instead of wood floors haha. But we won’t be living here for too long. We should be moving apartments either this week or next week. Apparently the missionaries from along time ago used to be super noisy and so all of our neighbors hate us, so we are eventually going to move out.
My companion is Elder Vicenteno. He is from Mexi-Cali in Mexico. He is funny and we get along great. He is about two transfers older than I am so we are both pretty young. It seems good because we both push each other to work harder. I am excited to be with him.
Our area is super big. We cover half of the HB Stake. (This is for you dad) Our area goes from Edinger and Gothard down to Slater over to Magnolia down to PCH and over to the Santa Ana Riverbed. We cover part of HB and Fountain Valley. There are 4 English wards and we translate for two of them (the other two already have set translators.) Elder Vicenteno does the translating since he is fluent in both languages.
We have some super cool people that we are teaching. We are teaching this kid named J_____. he is 13 years old and loves skateboarding. He has two sisters who are recent converts (I think they were baptized last October) A_____ who is 9 and S_____ who is 17. They are both super nice are really cool and we are all working with J______ to get him closer to wanting to be baptized.
So we eat dinner every night with the English Elders. It is weird not to eat tortilla’s with every meal now. We now eat white people food which I finally got adjusted to not eating. It is different but it is nice. It reminds me of home. haha. So do the English wards that we go to. It is exactly like being home. It is crazy. This area seems super sweet and I am excited to serve here. My time is running short so I hope y’all have a great week!
Love,
Elder Bryce the Younger
