Letter #31: Dear Family

Another week down!

This week has been phenomenal!!!

We have been having more lessons with Maria and she is fantastic. She is totally ready for baptism and it is such an honor and a blessing to be the missionary who takes the gospel to her. She is golden. She told us in our other lesson that she prayed and God told her that she should get baptized. She is fantastic and we are actually planning for the 26th of July! I am super excited and can’t wait to continue to teach her!

With R_____ we are still working with him to gain the desire to come to church. He is slowly developing a testimony of the Book of Mormon and we are continuing to make emphasis on that. He is such a nice genuine guy.

This week, we had to take our car in the shop because the trunk wouldn’t close. So we were on foot for an entire day. It was super fun to walk and talk with a bunch of people. I got a pretty good tan haha and a nice blister on my right foot… haha. But that was good to mix up the week haha.

Also I went on exchanges with a Elder Woffinden, he is an elder from Salt Lake who I served around during my first transfer. We had a really good time and worked really hard. I kinda learned that your attitude plays a huge part in this work. We worked hard and had a smile on our faces and it made all the difference. We also hit up 7-11 at lunch time to pick up our free Slurpees! It was awesome.

Today was really cool, the guy who plays John in the Bible videos lives here in HB and he came and showed some of the bible videos and talked about some of the behind the scenes stuff. It was super super super interesting. He is such a cool guy (He is the only apostle in the Bible Videos without facial hair.) He talked with us about how he auditioned to be James and got the role but a week before shooting Elder David A. Bednar called them up and said he wanted the guy to play John and not James. He also talked about a bunch of other cool stories and things that happened on the set. It makes me really appreciate the videos a lot more. It was a really cool experience. He also said that the church was thinking about making either the Old Testament next or the Book of Mormon which would be sweeeeeet!

That’s about it… I love y’all and will keep you in my prayers!

Elder Bryce 🙂
