Letter #35: Transfer Calls!

HOLA!

So transfer calls were on Saturday night and we found out that I am staying in Huntington Beach while my companion is getting transferred! My new companion is going to be Elder Passey, I don’t know anything about him but I am excited to get to work with him.

I love the beginning of a new transfer. It gives you the opportunity to start fresh and change anything that you need to improve on. I am excited for the opportunity to have a new companion and all the learning experiences that I am going to have with him.

So we had a great week last week. We worked super hard so that we could finish the transfer with a bang. We went out and we found a bunch of new investigators. We picked up a bunch of youth that we are now teaching four different teenagers who are all still in high school. It is a little different when you are teaching youth. You have to keep it interesting and make it relevant to them. It is really fun to teach them.

We had a really cool experience finding a new investigator. We were with this kid named A_____ who is a convert of 2 years and he is like 16 or 17 and he loves coming out with us. He is a skateboarder dude who ran away from home because he didn’t like the environment he was being raised in. He found the church and knew that it was where he was supposed to be. He is a really cool kid and we were out and about working and we weren’t finding any success, all our plans and back-up plans fell through. He then said a prayer with us and i thought of this potential investigator that we passed by a week ago but wasn’t home. We went to his house and he was home and immediately let us in which was a shock. His name was J____ and we taught him a little bit about what we do and teach and he was totally interested. It was a really cool experience of how prayer and faith can work miracles. We set a return appointment for later this week.

It is crazy, since in my area we cover four wards we switch off with who we eat with each month and this month we are eating with the Beachside ward. They are an awesome ward and the members live really close to the beach, we have been fed so well. It’s awesome. They are one of the richest wards in the missions. It’s crazy, we ate with this family where the dad just bought a brand new corvette. And he was showing us it. It was crazy nice (haha).

I am tired from a killer game of basketball that we played just barely. So that will be pretty much it for this week. I need a nap

  • I love y’all!
  • I love being a missionary!
  • I love the gospel!
