Letter #45: A New Car!

So I am not sure what happened this week. Usually I have a paper of things to write about but today I left it at the apartment, So I am not sure what went down… You kinda get confused about when things happen and what happened this week and what happened last week. So if I repeat anything don’t hate… 🙂

So we did some service for one of our investigators E____________. She is super cool. She totally looks Asian but is from Peru… Apparently a bunch of Asians moved to Peru like 100 years back, but she is really cool. She is just like a mother figure. She has a son that is a convert of like 3 years who is on a mission and she loves to come to church and feed the missionaries. She is hesitant to get baptized for a couple different reasons, she kinda wants to wait for her son to get home from his mission, also her husband’s first wife was a Mormon and when they got divorced it was pretty rough so he doesn’t like Mormons… But we have done service for them multiple times and now we are on his good side. He usually would got to a different room when we would come and refused to have any part, but service softens peoples hearts, and the last time he prayed with us. So we are slowly working! It is pretty awesome. He is totally white though.

I almost got eaten alive by a dog this week. at least I think it was this week… it could’ve been last week. It was like the dog from the Sandlot and when we knocked on this one screen door it ran and jumped at us and it was insanely huge. It almost made me poop my pants.

So we got a new car!!!!!! We had the last Chevy Malibu in the mission and it was pretty old. (not too bad) but they had us come in and they are going to sell it. They gave us a Chevy Cruz 2013. It is pretty nice. So cars in the mission go until they hit 50000 miles and then the Church sells them. That was pretty exciting. When we were at the mission office I saw my friend Cole from High School… Now he is Elder Liddiard. Pretty crazy that we ended up in the same mission but he is English speaking so we would never be companions.

Um… I can’t really remember what else I was going to write about…
The weather is finally starting to get colder. like 5 degrees but i feel like I have become a true Californianite. I am always complaining about the weather and a 10 degree change is death. It hit like 72 the other night and I wanted to put a sweater on. I am going to have a rough time when I come back in winter time next year….

Rudy isn’t doing too well, he is struggling with smoking and he also looked up a bunch of stuff online the other day and he asked us a bunch of questions about deep doctrine stuff. I really hope he doesn’t get sucked into any anti stuff. And his wife just lost her job so she is spending a ton of time more at home and she doesn’t like us so her influence at home isn’t helping him. Just keep him in your prayers.

We talked to this really cool lady, we knocked on her door and asked her if she knew about the Book of Mormon, and she said she was half way through it, she then said she is investigating many different religions and she seems to really like our church, she said she knows about D&C and the Pearl of great Price so that was really weird, we set up a time to meet with her this week, so I can’t wait to see how that goes.

I love all you guys and hope ya have a great day!
