Letter #53: Transferred

Wow this last transfer has gone by crazy fast. I feel like I just left HB but the transfer is already over. So on Saturday night we found out what happens with transfers and they told us that we would both be staying for another transfer and then I received a call this morning telling me that they had to make some last minute changes and I am going to be transferred to Cerritos to be with Elder Stevenson. I was kinda sad because I just got to this area and was hoping that I would stay awhile. I like the area, the members, the investigators, and just the work in general. I was hoping to stay with Elder Lesa for a longer period of time, because we got along great. And it kinda stinks to get transferred right before Christmas… but oh well, I feel like the Lord has a reason for me being transferred to Cerritos and It is my job to find out.

Besides that, this week has been pretty normal. We are teaching A________ who looks set for her baptismal date of the 27th (which I might miss, I am going to try to get permission to visit), she seems excited to be baptized!

Then we have been working a lot with A________who always has a ton of questions for us to answer and we taught him about the Atonement and it was really cool spirit that we felt when teaching him. He understood it a lot better than before. He has been someone who missionaries have been teaching for a while but some of the stuff has never really stuck, but it is really cool because you can tell that it is actually sticking that he is actually processing it.

We have been visiting a ton of members in the area and there are some super cool people. We stopped by this one family and they asked us to come back and do a family home evening with them and they were going to invite some of their friends who aren’t members. They also fed us that night taco’s which were so good… Man I am starting to fall in love with Hispanic food.

Then we went by this one family who just moved here from Peru and they have a son who is 30 who is super less active and they wanted us to come over and talk and we did and we found out that he wants to start learning English and so we started teaching English to the family and he wants us to come back and teach more. Which was pretty cool.

Then we taught E______ and C______. They are really cool, the lessons are totally in spanglish because C_______ is more comfortable in English and E_______ in Spanish so we had a good lesson with them. It kinda went all over the place because we were continuing off with the plan of salvation and they had a question about the Book of Mormon, and then we started talking about Joseph Smith and prophets and then Thomas S Monson. They are really cool, they just ask like a billion questions from all over the place. It keeps it fun… haha

I can’t remember what else that I did this week. I forgot my list of things that I did.

Elder Lesa and I woke up early one morning this week and went hiking. We went before the sun came up so we saw a dope sunrise. And from where we were at we could see LA all lit up. It was cool.

Oh and this week we went to Red Robin after District meeting because one of the elders in our district is going home and so we went to celebrate. I had this really good burger and we all ate like a billion fries (they said they were bottomless đŸ˜‰ it was pretty good.

I feel like I am missing something else pretty big that happened this week but I can’t remember. Oh well. I will probably remember afterwards…

I am so pumped for Christmas!!! What time would work best for yall for the Skype call? Can you make me an account and send me the info? Also send me your Skype info!

Um… I think that’s it!

I love y’all and I hope ya have a great week đŸ˜‰

-Elder Bryce
