Letter #56: Happy New Year

2016! That is sooooooo crazy. I can’t believe that its already here. I am pretty sure it still is 2014… Or it still is 2014 back in Utah.

This week has been great. A ton of fun.

On Tuesday we did service for this lady. We uprooted an entire tree and then trimmed some hedges. It was us and a couple other missionaries. It is this really old less-active lady who is super nice but lives alone. It was cool to help her out.

This week we have been searching for more people to teach because our pool of investigators barely qualifies as a kiddie pool…

We found this really cool lady named F_________ who is super genuine. She is a young mother and we haven’t been able to have a full sit down lesson with her but we have shared some scriptures and talked at her doorstep. We are going to try to have a lesson with her this week and get to know her a bit more.

We found this new investigator named I_____ who is super cool. We were headed back to our car after one of our lessons fell through and Elder Stephenson saw somebody across the street so we turned around and went to go talk to him. He was this young black kid. He was on his way home from work and we just started talking to him and we were for almost 30 minutes. We talked to him about the power of prayer, and at the end we invited him to pray and he was nervous but we taught him how and he said a super cool prayer. It was awesome but we had to pass him off to the English missionaries…

Then on New Years eve we went over to the M_________ who threw a little party, we had some good tacos. They were pretty spicy though. haha. Then on Sunday it was awesome. We had like 5 less active members come to church and also G________ was able to come. It was his second time in a row which is so cool because it has been almost 2 years since he last came. We then we up to Pico Rivera for a baptism of one of Elder Stephenson’s investigators from his last area. That was cool.

We found this really cool guy who is named D_______. We had a really cool lesson with him about the Book of Mormon and we challenged him to read and pray to find out if it is true. He accepted and then accepted to be baptized if he receives an answer. He is pretty cool.

So that is pretty much everything. The weeks just keep flying by. It is crazy. I am excited to continue to work and to find more people to teach.

Thanks for the letters and the pictures. I hope y’all have a great week!

Elder Bryce
