Letter #85: Teaching

So this last transfer has flown by… It is already over. I am going to be transferred, sort of. They are splitting up our area and some other missionaries area and creating a new one. So I am going to be covering just the North Long Beach area. I will be in the same ward and have part of the same area but I will have a new companion. I am super excited because the area I am in hasn’t been touched in a while by missionaries so I know that there is a ton of people that need to hear the gospel.

So this week we started teaching this guy named Javier. He was baptized a long time ago in Mexico but was never really active in the church and we started talking to him and he wants to start coming back to church. We searched for his records but there is nothing so the bishop said we are going to have to re-baptize him. He is really cool but still has a long way to go until that point. It was a miracle that we found him to.

We also had a really cool experience this week, there was this family sitting outside their house just chillin, and we went over and started talking to them. I saw that they had a kid who had a Rubik’s Cube but he didn’t know how to solve it. While we were talking I asked the kid for the cube and started solving it relating it to the gospel. That when we do the little steps like reading, praying, and coming to church it builds a foundation and gives us a sense of direction in our lives and then I solved the Rubik’s Cube and they were just blown away. It was kinda fun and they really liked it. We are going to go back and teach them next week.

So that is about all, I don’t have much time this week but I hope you all have a great week.
