So this week has flown by… It literally feels like every other day I am here writing y’all. It is just ridiculous.
So this week I had the opportunity to go on exchanges with a couple of missionaries and both times I got to go serve in Compton… Like the heart of compton…. The pretty sketchy part. We went in to this area which is some Government funded housing and boy was that an experience. I would not want to raise a family in that environment. The smell of Marijuana was everywhere.
So I got to go with Elder Reyna, he is from Mesa. We had a really good time and really went out and helped a ton of people. We were able to see a lot of success. We visited this one less active kid and we were joking around with him and asked him when he was going to come with us to teach some lessons. He said he was down to come with us right then, so we went with him to visit some people and asked him if he knew anyone near by and he took us to his friend and we had a really cool lesson with his friend who has been searching for the truth.
Then I got to go with Elder Nuttall from Colorado and that was weird, it was my first time going on an exchange with English Missionaries in like a year. It felt really weird to do it in English. haha.
Then on Saturday we were able to go to the LA Temple Visitors Center with our investigator Rafael. He had an amazing spiritual experience there. We pushed his wheel chair around the temple and he said he felt a feeling that was indescribable. An overwhelming peace. We then had a moment where we showed him a video that focused on the family and he said that he wants to have all of his family join the church and be baptized. It was awesome. He is so solid.
That kind of sums up my week. I am just loving being a missionary. It just brings me so much joy. I feel like I am finally understanding how to be a missionary, not fully there but almost. I just want to work as hard as I can the rest of my mission. I love this gospel and I love all of you!!!
