Letter #21: A Close Call

Hola!!!! (I think that means something in Spanish but I’m not sure)

HAPPY MAMA’s DAY! (on Sunday)

This week has been a great week.

This week we got M_____ and her son E______ to Church!!! It was great because they both loved it. She was super excited to come to Church and her son (who is eight) was a little scared. Once he went to Primary he had a great time. He came out of Primary and ran up to us and told us everything he learned. He was telling his mom the lesson he learned about faith and the songs he singed. He loved it and wants to come back next week. Also he noticed a picture of Jesus Christ getting baptized and asked us about it and his mother jumped in and told him that is what she is going to be doing on the 17th of May. You can totally tell that she is excited about her baptismal date. The members were also great with her and we introduced her to practically everybody there and she felt the love of all the members and wants to come back. It was a great experience both for us and for them

We had an amazing lesson with M________ earlier this week that I think helped her get the desire to come to church. We decided to have the lesson at the chapel and showed her around the building. So we invited the Genis family who are just amazing members. Hermano Genis is the ward mission leader and his wife is the gospel doctrine teacher. They are so nice and love helping us missionaries out. They are awesome, they went and picked M______ up and drove her to the church. They did a great job reaching out to fellowship her. They practically taught most of the lesson. We showed her around the building and ended up in the chapel. The coolest part was when we walked into the chapel and we all felt the Spirit super strong. It was sooooooooo cool. It makes me appreciate the chapel more now then I ever have before. It truly is a sacred place.

We did more service for some people at Leisure World for a family who wanted us to lift and move like 30-40 potted plants that they had and another service project for this lady who used to be a model a long long time ago. We basically cleaned a lot of her house. It was super fun and she gave us these Lindt chocolates afterword that were coconut… They were divine…

Also, our car is having more problems and we have to take it in to the body shop in a couple days… apparently it is part of some recall of some parts or something… So that should be fun next week.

I went on exchanges this week with Elder De La Cruz but we didn’t accomplish much. I got a really bad cold and was forced to stay inside because the mission nurse said I was contagious. It only lasted for a day so I am back to being healthy. Being sick on the mission is the worst. There is literally nothing to do. haha.

Well that is pretty much it for this week. I love you all and I love serving a mission. It is a really cool experience to know that I am exactly where the Lord wants me to be. I love being here.

Love,

Elder Bryce

P.S. I am not sure exactly when I am going to be Skype-ing y’all on Sunday. We still don’t have the details completely set up. I think it will be around dinner time, like five or six my time… We’ll see. Sorry I don’t know more. Our plans kinda got mixed up.

p.s.2 I feel like the title of my emails were a little boring so am deciding to spruce them up a bit… haha

p.s.3 Happy Star Wars day… May the Fourth be with you!
