Letter #36: Missionary Stuff

HHHEEEEEYYYY!!!!

This week has been awesome! My new companion is great. His name is Elder Brandon Passey. He is from Grantsville Utah. He is really cool. We get along really well. He is super funny and a hard worker.

It was a little scary taking over the area. So I was in charge of what was going on and planning for the first couple days. I had to take the lead which was scary at first but it became really fun. I had a blast this past week.

We found this really cool guy this week. His name is A_______. We found him on Wednesday, we were going by this less-active member’s home who travels all the time and he has been in Mexico for the past two months. He told us he would be back by August. So we were going by his house and he wasn’t home but this other Hispanic guy pulled up to the house. We started talking to him and we were talking in English and he wasn’t too interested but when we switched to Spanish, he got super excited and started to talk to us and open up. We then had a really cool first lesson with him, we invited him to Church and he said that he would love to come! He actually came this week and loved it. We also invited him to be baptized on the first lesson and he said he would pray and read the Book of Mormon and if he feels its right he would definitely want to be baptized. He is really cool and really fun to teach. It was a really cool experience!

Also we have been teaching this kid named J_______. He is about 15 years old and he seems pretty cool. It is really fun to teach him because you really have to try and make everything of personal relevance for him. It is really cool.

It is really crazy here in this zone there are like 5-6 brand new missionaries being trained and then a bunch of missionaries who have only been out like two months, so the zone is just filled with young brand new missionaries. I am one of the more experienced missionaries which is just crazy! It is cool though. What I like is it is an opportunity to change the perception of what the area is know as, because in the past Huntington Beach has been know as the place where it is difficult to find new investigators, but we are changing that mindset. I feel like attitude has a huge part in whatever we do. I feel if you have a great attitude, look for the good in everything, and look for miracles, you will find them. It is amazing how it works that way.

Thanks for the amazing letters and pictures this week! You don’t know how much I love seeing pictures of all of you! It is my favorite part!!!!!!

You guys are awesome! I hope you all will make this next week a great week! Thanks for everything!

I love you so much!!!!!!!!!!!

Elder Bryce the Younger 😉
