Hola (that’s Spanish for Hello)!

Another week in the mission life that just flew by. It is crazy to think I have been out here for three weeks. I have enjoyed every moment of it. It has been a bit of a pain this week because our car is in the shop and they are taking forever to fix it. Last week we parked our car on the street at the end of a line of cars and when we came out in the morning, it was a couple feet forward and had a huge dent in the trunk. Someone must of hit it in the middle of the night and ran off. So we have been forced to walk everywhere we go. It is a bit of a hassle, but has been a learning experience. We are able to talk to more people every day however.

But it added to an even more crazy week. It felt like nothing went according to plan. Random things kept coming up and changing our plans. It was still pretty fun and we accomplished a lot. Also I got to go on exchanges with our zone leaders Elder Tartar and Elder Harmon. They are both Cambodian speaking Elders but luckily the lessons they had planed were in English so I could help out. It was a fun experience, and Cambodian people are super nice and friendly.

The members here in this ward are great. They are super friendly and super nice. It is so cool to get to meet all of them. They feed us most nights and I have tried a lot of new and different foods. I have had a lot of Mexican food that I don’t know exactly what it is. I also got to try Cambodian food the other day and it actually tasted pretty good. It was this weird beef/vegetable thingy with rice.

I received the package this week and it was amazing!!!! Tell the Sorensen’s, Black’s and GM/GP Staker Gracias for me. It means a lot. The jacket is super nice, I love it and my companion was super jealous. And the Starbursts were divine. I didn’t know that they came in those flavors, they were insanely good. It was just what I needed.

My companion is super cool. We really get along together and I couldn’t have had a better trainer. He is from Ogden, he likes a lot of the same stuff I do. He only has a couple of months left in the mission and has given me a lot of great advice.

But overall, life has been pretty great! I love being here in California. A mission has been quite a bit different from what I expected but I know that this is the Lord’s work and I want to continue to serve him and share the gospel with everyone.
