Letter #95: El Bautismo

So this week was awesome!!

Thomas was baptized this week which was awesome. He is such a good guy and just has desires to do good and be good which is so cool. We were so excited for him. The baptismal service went great and he was just so excited. The spirit was super strong at the baptism and he was in tears. It was a really cool experience to help him receive the gospel and turn his life around. It was also cool to see the side effects of it, his aunt who was less-active before has started coming back to church and she seems to have a reinvigorated testimony.

We are continuing to work with several people who seem to be progressing pretty well. Rafael is still doing a bit better, he wants to be baptized but his health problems are really holding him back.

We talked to this crazy white guy in his yard. He had his shirt off and was barbecuing. He went off about the fulfilling of Old Testament Prophecies. He was drunk out of his mind and his only source was Youtube… haha. He was pretty funny.

I have just found so much joy in the work. I have been trying to just lose myself and focus on the work and it has changed. I love teaching people, helping them overcome their own doubts and questions and find the hope of God’s Light. Joy is the only word that could describe it. Even when we have hard days where there is no physical success that we can see, I just have this peace and joy that fill my soul.

I love all of you and I am excited to see all of you soon!
