Was up!!!!!!

This week has been crazy! It has passed by so quickly. It has almost already been one transfer out in the field… I am half way done with being trained! Time is flying.

We had a super cool experience this week… So to start off, we were really disappointed because we had to drop one of our most promising investigators. We were also really tired from walking all day and it was pretty hot out. We were on our way to stop by a potential investigator and in the area book it just said an apartment complex but not a apartment number, so we decided to knock on all the doors. The first door someone answered and they spoke Spanish. It was a 29-year old lady named Vanessa. She was really quiet but when we started talking to her she started crying. She said that she loved our message and wanted to hear more. So when we went back the other day, we taught her with the mission president’s wife, Sister Tew, and our Branch President. It was a great lesson and we are going back tomorrow. She seems like a golden investigator who was truly prepared for us by the Lord. It was also a blessing because we were thinking about going home early after that tiring day but we decided to keep going. And it was when we thought we could go no further that the Lord blessed us with a new investigator.

We also had some other crazy experiences this week. We have still been walking (our car will hopefully be back by Friday)(and my companion is in the process of selling his bike since his mission is almost over so he can’t ride his) and we have met some interesting people on the streets.

We met this black guy on the street named Steven. He saw us from across the street and shouted “MY ELDERS!!!!” He walked to us and said immediately that he is going to buy us brunch. He took us to the Crooked Duck which we were walking right next to. He asked us how long we have been serving, and he said he served a mission in France. I thought he was a member until he ordered coffee and said he served for 6 years in France. He was super nice and we had a great talk over some delicious french toast with banana syrup. He was familiar with the Church. He was really outgoing and really smart. He knew English, Spanish, French, Hebrew, and who knows what else. We had a great religious discussion and He knew the Bible super well and also the Book of Mormon. Even though he wasn’t a member, he showed us some scriptures in the Bible and Book of Mormon that actually taught us a lot. It was super cool.

We also saw quite a few crazy people in the streets who have just come up to us and have been muttering the crazy and funniest things. It is Awesome! We also saw this guy who was speed walking and eating these massive carrots, it was hilarious.

I love this work, the people I am with, the people I teach. It is great! Thanks for your letters and pictures. It is always great to hear from y’all!
