Letter #37: Living la Vida loca

Hey!!!!

Its been another week in paradise. Man the weather here is just great (a little boring at times ) but you never have to complain… Except the funny part is people from California always love to brag about the weather but they also complain about it all the time haha. It’s always just a little too hot, or too windy, or too cloudy… It is super funny.

Sometimes I forget I am serving in paradise.
Sometimes I forget I am serving in paradise.

But man the weeks just fly by and it is crazy. I literally feel like I just started the mission. But we had fun this week. It was full of meetings so we weren’t able to have normal full work day. On Tuesday, There was a Leadership training so all District Leaders and Zone Leaders had to go and so I went on a mini exchange with two elders who have only been in the field for just one week. It was really fun, they both were English elders and we went right to the heart of Spanishland to give them a full experience. It was awesome. We taught a bunch of lessons and talked to a ton of people. It gave me a lot of confidence because the teaching and stuff came all down to me but we worked hard and saw many blessings as a result.

Then on Wednesday we had our usual district meeting and then afterwords we have weekly planning, but that was all interrupted and we went and had to give a couple blessings to a couple different people, and then run to the mission office to get a few things. It was a crazy busy day.

On Thursday we had a multi-zone conference. It was all about inviting people to do. Specific and powerful invitations to help people keep commitments. It was really cool. and we have seen the blessings come from following the advice of the Mission President.

We found several new investigators this week but we are going to pass them off to the elders in the YSA ward here. They both seem pretty cool and I am kinda bummed I can’t continue to teach them and see them change. it is really cool to see the gospel really take place in someones heart and change there life. We share a message of Hope with people and to see that hope really change someone’s outlook on life is such a cool thing. Ether 12:4 is the scripture that really sums it all up. That hope that we share will be an anchor in someone’s life.

Wherefore, whoso believeth in God might with surety hope for a better world, yea, even a place at the right hand of God, which hope cometh of faith, maketh an anchor to the souls of men, which would make them sure and steadfast, always abounding in good works, being led to glorify God.

We taught this pretty cool lady named M_______. or at least I think that was her name. She seems pretty interested but she has no idea how to read, so that is a little struggle but we will see how our second lesson goes with her later this week.

My companion and I are getting along super well, we both have a desire to work hard and to improve and we are pushing each other in a good way. He is awesome and I am learning a lot from him. He has a great testimony and is a fantastic missionary.

My time is running short so that will have to be all this week.

I love ya 😉
