Letter #51: Thanksgiving!!!

This week was crazy! I don’t think that I have ever eaten this much food in my life. It was ridiculous… So Thanksgiving was an interesting day. We started out with our weekly district meeting. Than we had a meeting in Long Beach with all the mission. It was crazy seeing everybody there in one place, but we had a meeting about the new Christmas video that came out yesterday. It is called #ASaviorIsBorn and it is sweet. We are excited to use this video and it makes it really easy to talk with people. Afterwards is when the chaos began.

So we went to pick up another set of missionaries to go with us to our dinner appointment but when we got there, the member that they were visiting invited us in and gave us dinner of salad, chicken, and rice. After that we hurried off to our dinner appointment and we got fed a giant plate of ribs, ham, mashed potatoes, and salad. And after that a member called us and when we went over they brought out food for us so then I had a third dinner of turkey, potatoes, and stuffing. Then we went by this less active lady who brought us a plate of turkey, mashed potatoes, rolls, and stuffing, then we went by this last person who invited us who we didn’t know and when we went over they fed us dessert. So we went to five dinner appointments. It was crazy…. I have never eaten so much and didn’t want to ever eat again afterwards. It was bad… I put on like five pounds just that night. Everyone just invited us over to eat and we couldn’t said no. I almost threw up that night. haha but it was fun. It was the full Missionary Thanksgiving experience.

But other than that it was a pretty ordinary week haha. We have been working with our investigators but a lot of them are hard to get a hold of.

We gave our car to another companionship whose car is in the shop, so we have been walking for a couple days and it is not too bad, we have a pretty small area, so its fun. Just a little cold. 🙂 I think I am a true Californian. haha 65 degrees is just way to cold…

We had a cool experience with a member, she was free in the morning so she was accompanying us to a lesson but our lesson cancelled last second. So we were scrambling trying to have a lesson, she was calling a ton of friends asking if they wanted to talk with us and we started calling a bunch of numbers in our phone who we didn’t know who they were. This one guy answered and said we could come by. It was pretty cool, we went over and had a great lesson with him. His name is M______ and he was an investigator in 2011 but dropped off the earth. He is super solid but the only thing stopping him is he loves to smoke.

This week flew by fast. Elder Lesa and I are getting along great and I hope we stay together for another transfer (the Christmas transfer)

I love my area and the investigators and members here. It is awesome!

Thanks for the letters and the pictures especially 🙂

I hope yall have a great week

Elder Bryce
