So this week may be short because its Martin Luther King Jr. Day and all the libraries are closed and so our whole zone is emailing at the Family History center so we all don’t have too much time. But this week has been pretty fun. We have had a ton of success finding new investigators again. I am starting to love this area, and the people we are teaching.
We started teaching this guy named J_____who is interesting, he is a non-denominational christian who is very religious but we were able to talk with him and he invited us to come back. Yesterday was our return appointment and we knocked on his door and he invited us in and when we sat down at his table he called someone and put her on speaker phone and we taught a lesson to this lady over the phone. It was the weirdest thing. haha but she was super nice and she lives in Mexico. She was really cool and we are going to get her address and send the missionaries down there to go talk to her. That was a strange but cool experience. Then J_____ after he hung up with her started talking and he wanted to share with us a song that he calls a gift from god that helped him get out of a hard time. He looked it up on YouTube and just started belting it out, singing along… It was kinda funny because it was just all of a sudden but he got into it. He closed his eyes and just started singing with all his heart. He sure is an interesting guy… haha
The number of prayers that I have said holding hands in a circle has gone up by four this week đŸ™‚ One of which was this guy from Missouri who is really old but super nice. A genuine Christian. We had like a mini lesson with him on the street and he asked us to come back and talk. That was pretty cool.
Talked to this cool guy named J_______. He is a really cool young guy in his twenties and he is searching for a church. We started talking to him about prayer and about how God answers prayers, and then transitioned to talking about Joseph Smith. We had a really good lesson and he said a super cool prayer at the end asking to know if what we said was true. The spirit was super strong… It was really cool.
I went on exchanges with this elder named Elder Brandner from Pleasant Grove. He is a visa waiter who is going to leave to Thailand is a couple weeks. We had a really good time. We went out and just contacted a ton of people and knocked a ton of doors. At lunch we went to this Thai store that I knew about and it gave Elder Brandner the opportunity to talk with the store owner in Thai. It was really cool and he just started teaching her like right on the spot about the Plan of Salvation. I kinda just stood there not knowing what anybody was saying. haha flashback to when I started the mission…. đŸ™‚
So we had another lesson with G_________ and R_________, and during the lesson they told us that they really appreciated how we were teaching them and not trying to force or push them to do anything. He has been an investigator for ages and missionaries have tried to get them to come to church and get divorced and then married so that he can get baptized. But we decided to not ask them to come to church or anything like that because they already know. They told us they really appreciate what we are doing and that they feel the spirit stronger with us than the other missionaries, and that has motivated them to try and work on their divorce papers so they can take the steps towards baptism. They have been to church the last 4 weeks in a row! It is so cool so if you can keep them in your prayers so that they can figure out the divorce situation.
Sorry this letter has been so scrambled… I lot of things happened this week and a lot of miracles but I am almost out of time. So next week will be better. I love all of you and hope you have a great week!
