Letter #82: Spinach

So this week was another dope week as a missionary!

We have been kinda been trying to find new investigators, a lot of the people that we were teaching haven’t really been keep commitments so we have decided to start fresh and find people the would be willing to keep commitments.

We started teaching this new family Jaime and Luz and their 19yr old son Guillermo. They are really cool. They are super Catholic but they told us they are willing to listen and want to figure out if this is true. They are great.

We are teaching this person named Arcelia and we have had some awesome spiritual lessons with her. She is one of those people who think that all religions are good and as long as you follow God you are good. We taught her about the reason Jesus Christ established the church and about Priesthood authority in a way that she finally understood it. It was such a spiritual lesson and you could see the spirit work within her to finally come to understand that we aren’t simply just another church. She is going to start reading The Book of Mormon and praying about it.

The ward we are in doesn’t have a ton of active members. Around 100 members. Their are a lot of great members here, and a ton of potential for growth.

I have been studying The Book of Mormon and I know that it is the only thing that brings about true and lasting conversion. I finally have come to realize why our mission president wants us to focus on this book. So that we could gain a true testimony of this book and never fall away. When we have been teaching less-actives most of them have forgot their testimony of this book, they haven’t read it in a long time, and when they begin to read it again, they begin their journey to return to the father. It is always the first step.

Thanks so much for everything and have a fantastic week!!!
